In Castaic overnight, a tragic DUI crash has claimed three lives and resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old driver. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on The Old Road near West Parker Road, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.
The driver, identified as Taylor Roberson from Redlands, was behind the wheel of a 2010 Toyota Camry traveling at high speed when they lost control. The vehicle veered off the road, colliding forcefully with a tree. The impact was so severe that it split the car in half, ejecting three passengers from the vehicle.
Despite the initial collision, the car continued its path, crashing into a light pole before erupting into flames. Miraculously, Roberson managed to extricate themselves from the wreckage.
Tragically, the three passengers did not survive the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, Roberson, who sustained major injuries, was promptly taken to the hospital.
Authorities have arrested Roberson on suspicion of driving under the influence, highlighting the devastating consequences of impaired driving. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with driving while intoxicated, urging all motorists to prioritize safety on the road.
