Intentional Crash Leads to Felony Charges for Folsom Man

Just before 8 p.m., emergency responders rushed to the scene at East Bidwell Street and Iron Point Road following a vehicle accident involving a motorcyclist.

Upon arrival, responders found the motorcyclist had been intentionally struck from behind and run over by an SUV. The crash investigation by Folsom Police revealed that the SUV’s driver had allegedly pursued and intentionally collided with the motorcyclist on East Bidwell Street.

The driver, identified as 23-year-old Anders Erickson of Folsom, was promptly arrested and taken to Sacramento County Jail. He faces charges under PC 245(A)(1) for assault with a deadly weapon.

Records from Sacramento County Jail confirm that Erickson is currently held without bail pending his arraignment scheduled for Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in Sacramento County Court.

Despite the severity of the collision, the motorcyclist managed to escape with a broken ankle and minor cuts and bruises, according to the Folsom Police Department. As the investigation continues, authorities have refrained from disclosing further details about the incident at this time.
