2-Vehicle Collision Claims Woman's Life on Simpson Road

Tragedy struck on Sunday afternoon when Kimberly Higgins lost her life in a two-car collision on Simpson Road. The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. near California Avenue on June 23rd.

Reports indicate that a 53-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Cruze westbound on Simpson Road when a 17-year-old male driving a Jeep failed to yield the right-of-way at the intersection, resulting in a broadside collision with the Chevrolet.

Emergency responders swiftly arrived, and one of the victims was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Sadly, Kimberly Higgins, 51, from Hemet, succumbed to her injuries approximately five hours later at the hospital. Two other occupants involved in the crash were also transported for medical treatment. The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

Authorities have confirmed that alcohol or drugs were not contributing factors in the crash, though further investigation into the incident is ongoing.

A man lost his life Thursday morning following a two-vehicle crash in Modesto. The accident happened around 10 a.m. on West Orangeburg Avenue near Evergreen Drive, according to the Modesto Police Department. Authorities say the driver of a black Ford Mustang was heading eastbound when he collided with a Dodge Ram at the intersection. The impact left the Mustang’s driver with major injuries, and he later died at the hospital. The driver and passenger of the Dodge Ram were not injured in the crash. Police confirmed that everyone involved was from Modesto, but the identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
