A 57-year-old Modesto man was killed and as many as seven other people were injured in a fiery three-vehicle car accident on Ladd Road near Tully Road outside Modesto on Saturday night, June 27, 2026. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a speeding Porsche rear-ended a Ram pickup around 9:30 p.m., then struck an oncoming Mercedes SUV head-on before his car came to rest and caught fire. CHP reports that a green 2026 Porsche coupe was traveling west on Ladd Road, near Tully Road, when it slammed into the back of a Ram pickup truck around 9:30 p.m. The impact sent the pickup off the roadway and into a rollover. The Porsche kept going, hit an eastbound Mercedes SUV head-on, then came to rest and burst into flames. The Porsche's 57-year-old driver died at the scene; his passenger and both people in the Mercedes were seriously hurt. The pickup driver and five passengers — including three children — escaped with minor injuries or none at all. Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.
